BORNO 
GENERAL INFORMATION
Borno State was created formed in February 3, 1976 by the Murtala Mohamed out of the then North-Eastern State. Until August 1991, it contained what is now Yobe State. It's capital is Maiduguri.

Located in the North Eastern corner of Nigeria, Borno State occupies 70,898 square kilometres. Borno State occupies the greater part of the Chad Basin. Borno state shares borders with the Republics of Niger to the North, Chad to the North-East and Cameroun to the East.

Within Nigeria, Borno State shares boundaries with Adamawa State to the South, Gombe State to the West and Yobe State to the North-West.

Borno state derives it's name from the ancient Borno empire. The state is dominated by the Kanuri ethnic group, and is an example of the endurance of traditional political institutions in some areas of Africa. There, the emirs of the former Kanem-Bornu Empire have played a part in the politics of this area for nearly 1000 years.

ECONOMY
Agriculture is the main stay of the Borno economy.

ADAMAWA

GENERAL INFORMATION
Adamawa State was created on 27th August, 1991, by the then Federal Military Government under General lbrahim Babangida, out of the former Gongola State with Yola as it's capital. It has four administrative divisions namely: Adamawa, Ganye, Mubi and Numan. Major towns are Yola, Mubi, Ganye, Numan, Guyuk, Michika, Mayo-Belwa, Gombi and Jimeta.

The state is shares her northern boundry with Borno State, east with Gombe State, south west with Taraba State and east with Cameroun Republic.

Delta State was created from the then Bendel State 27th August 1991 by the then regime of General Ibrahim Babangida. Delta State is named after the delta region of the River Niger. It's capital is Asaba.

Warri is the biggest commercial city in the state. Other major towns are Agbor, Ughelli, Oleh, Ozoro, Oghara, Sapele, Koko, Burutu, Okpanam and Ogwashi-ukwu. Delta State can be considered a miniature version of Nigeria, with various ethnic groups.

Delta State shares common boundaries with Edo and Ondo States to the north west, Imo and Anambra to the north east, Rivers and Bayelsa States to the south east. In the south west and south it has approximately 122 kilometres of coastline bounded by the Bight of Benin on the Atlantic ocean.

DELTA

The Major ethnic groups are Urhobo, Igbo, Ezon, Isoko and Itsekiri. All the ethnic groups claim a common ancestry, consequently, their cultures are similar. These similarities are manifested in their religious folklores, dances, art and crafts and festivals.

ECONOMY
Delta State is a major oil producing state and ranks second to Rivers State. The State supplies about 35% of Nigeria's crude oil and some considerable amount of natural gas. The oil producing local government areas are Warri North and South, Burutu, Isoko North and South, Ughelli North and South, Okpe, Ethiope East and West, Sapele and Ndokwa East and West. The nation's second refinery as well as petrochemical plant are located in the state at Warri.

The Delta state government is however making efforts to diversify the state's revenue base from solely oil. Tourism and agricultural development are other areas the government is looking at developing into major revenue earners.

The state government accords various forms of assistance to farmers in the areas of fisheries, agriculture, forestry, veterinary services, produce planning and research. Most local governments in the state boast of fisheries extension units which cater for advisory inputs - nets, engines ropes, lead, floats and others. The state government has invested adequately in fisheries due to the natural resources which Delta State is blessed with. Fresh fish, crabs, shrimps and dried fish abound in almost all the local governments.

Delta State is also rich in major tubers and root crops such as cassava, coco yams, yam and potatoes. There are programmes initiated to encourage agriculture in the state. These include Delta Agricultural Development Programme (DADP), Task Force on communal farming, Agricultural Loan schemes to small scale farmers; Fishermen Farm Settlement Scheme, Tree Crop Unit and Livestock Production are also encouraged.

Industries in Delta State include Glass Factory at Ughelli, the African Timber and Plywood Factory, Sapele and Asaba Textile Mills. There are several industries in the state participating primarily in the processing of raw materials such as rubber and timber, such as the African Timber and Plywood (AT&P) in Sapele, Asaba Textile Mill, Ughelli Glass Factory, Delta Boatyard, and the Delta Steel Company, Ovwian-Aladja

TOURISM
The state is endowed with a rich cultural heritage. Various kinds of festivals are held in the state. For example the Agbasa Festival celebrated by the Urhobo.

The celebration of traditional festivals are annual community affair throughout Delta State. Almost every village celebrates a traditional festival and this draws both indigenes and non-indigenes to the village. Traditional festivals normally come between March and December every year. These festivals offer occasions for re-union of members of the family, friends and well wishers from far and near. Some of the important festivals celebrated in the State.

EDO 
GENERAL INFORMATION
Edo State was created out of former Bendel state in AUgust 27, 1991 by the then regime of General Ibrahim Babangida. It's capital is Benin City.

Situated in the mid south west of the country, Edo State covers 17,802 square kilometres. 
Edo state is home to several ethnicities, among them the Otuo, Bini, Esan, Akoko, Igarra, Ora, Ijo and Afemai. The state is renowned for its proficiency in sports and athletics and a culture of intellectual edification and scholastic excellence.

Edo State shares boundaries with three other states of the federation. It is bounded on the north and the east by Kogi State, on the west by Ondo State and on the south by Delta State. Generally, it is a low-lying area except in the north where it is marked by undulating hills. The main towns in the state are Benin, capital of the ancient Benin kingdom which is also the state capital, Ubiaja, Auchi, Ekpoma and Uromi.

ECONOMY

Edo State is endowed with abundant natural resources. The principal mineral resources include crude oil, natural gas, clay chalk, marbles and limestone .

Agriculture is the predominant occupation of people in this State. The major cash crops produced are rubber, cocoa and palm produce. In addition, the State produces such crops as yams, cassava; rice, plantains, guinea-corn, and assorted types of fruits and vegetables.

Industrial enterprises in the State include Bendel Cement Company, Okpella, Bendel Brewery, Benin City, Bendel Pharmaceutical PLC, Benin City, and Bendel Feed and Flour Mills, Ewu. Other small-scale industries abound.

TOURISM
Tourist attractions span the expanse of the state. Examples are the Emotan statue in Benin city and the Somorika hills in Akoko Edo. Somorika hills consist of an extended expanse of hills crowned by massive boulders perched precariously on the summits of hills and alongside seemingly inadequate locations on the sides.

Edo State has a rich cultural heritage. Benin City, the state capital is famous for its unique bronze, brass and ivory works of arts which are found all over the world in museums.

The Royal Palace of Benin, Benin Museum, Benin Moat (Iya), Emotan Status, Somorika Hills in Akoko-Edo are also tourist attractions. Others are Udo Tourist Centre in Esan East local government area and Okomu Wildlife Sanctuary near Benin City.
